Boost

Boost is the only paid feature on 12sell that increases your reach. When you boost, your Deal or Showcase is pinned to the top of matching feeds for a chosen window. After the window ends, the post returns to its normal feed position — it stays live but stops being top-ranked.

Boost is paid for in tokens. The platform's posting itself is free; tokens are the boost economy.

What boosting does

For the duration of the boost:

• Top-of-feed placement — your post is pinned above non-boosted posts in any feed where it would otherwise appear (matching categories, brands, region, audience).
• Boost label — boosted posts display a clear Boost tag so viewers know the placement is paid.
• Search ranking lift — boosted posts also rank higher in search results matching their categories.
• Cross-platform — boost works the same on web, iOS, and Android.

What boost doesn't do:

• Doesn't push your post to people whose profile setup doesn't match — if their categories aren't yours, they still don't see it.
• Doesn't override following — if a user has the Following filter on, only people they follow appear.
• Doesn't override hide/block — users who've hidden you still don't see your boosted posts.

So boost amplifies the right audience, not every audience.

Pricing

The base price is 15 tokens per day. Longer windows get a bigger discount:

So a 1-month boost (338 tokens) costs a little more than the Starter token pack (200 tokens) — most users who boost for a full month top up with the Pro pack.

Pricing is set by 12sell and can change, so the exact total is always shown in the boost confirmation screen before you spend.

How to boost

You can boost at the moment of posting, or any time later.

At the moment of posting

1. Compose a deal or showcase like normal.
2. Toggle Boost in the composer.
3. Pick the duration (1 day / 3 days / 1 week / 1 month).
4. Tap Post.

Tokens are deducted, the post is reviewed (usually instant), then it goes live and is pinned for the boost window.

Boost an existing post

1. Open your post → menu → Boost.
2. Pick the duration.
3. Confirm.

Tokens are deducted immediately. The boost window starts now.

You can also re-boost a post after a previous boost has ended — there's no limit on how many times you can boost the same post.

Lifecycle of a boosted post

If you delete or close a deal/showcase while it's still boosted, the remaining boost time is lost — tokens are not refunded.

When to boost vs not

The platform pattern: strong post + boost = real ROI. Boosting a poorly-written deal just spends tokens faster.

Discount math

The discount on longer boosts is real, not a marketing line:

• 1 day: 15 tokens/day
• 3 days: ~12.7 tokens/day (saves 7 tokens vs three 1-day boosts)
• 1 week: 12 tokens/day (saves 21 tokens vs seven 1-day boosts)
• 1 month: ~11.3 tokens/day (saves 112 tokens vs thirty 1-day boosts)

If you're boosting for a full month, the 1 month option saves you ~25% over daily boosts.

Combine with referrals

The fastest way to fund a long boost without buying tokens is Referrals — every active invitee gets you 150 tokens. Just three active referrals (450 tokens) more than covers a full month of boost.

Common questions

Where exactly does my boosted post appear?

At the top of any feed where the post would normally appear — meaning the same matching audience (categories, subcategories, brands, region, follower base), just at the top instead of mixed in chronologically.

Will my boost reach people who don't match my categories?

No. Boost amplifies your reach within your audience — it doesn't push your post to unrelated industries. A boosted phone deal won't appear on a textile trader's feed.

Can I extend an active boost?

You can't extend the current boost — but you can boost the post again as soon as the current window ends. There's no cooldown.

What happens if my deal is removed by moderation while boosted?

Tokens are not refunded for posts removed for rule violations. To avoid this, post clean content — see Reporting & Safety for what triggers removal.

Can I boost a private deal?

You can boost content in a Private List. The boost only applies within that list's subscriber audience — i.e., it pins your post for your subscribers. Niche but useful for high-tier private lists with many subscribers.

Does verification interact with boost?

A verified account's boosted post and an unverified account's boosted post both appear at the top of matching feeds. The difference is that verified accounts get a badge that increases reply rates further. Verification + Boost compounds.

Can I boost from any platform?

Yes. Web, iOS, and Android all support boosting. The token balance is shared across platforms.

What if I run out of tokens mid-boost?

The boost completes normally — you only pay at the moment you start the boost. After it ends, you'll need tokens to boost again.

Is there a way to schedule a boost for later?

Not currently. Boosts start the moment you confirm.
