Deals

How to post, browse, boost and manage Deals on 12sell โ€” the buy and sell posts that drive transactions on the platform.

๐Ÿ’ผ

Where deals actually close

Every transaction on 12sell starts as a Deal. Write one well and you'll have messages within hours.

A Deal is the heart of 12sell. It's a single-purpose post that says either "I want to sell this" (Want to Sell, or WTS) or "I want to buy this" (Want to Buy, or WTB). When you publish a deal, it lands in front of businesses whose profile setup matches your categories and brands.

Deals are the Deals tab when you open 12sell โ€” the first feed you see after signing in.

What a deal contains

Every deal you post has:

FieldWhat it is
TypeWant to Sell or Want to Buy
TitleA short, searchable headline
DescriptionThe details: model, quantity, price, location, contact preference, anything that helps the other side decide
Categories, subcategories, brandsWhat the deal is about โ€” drives matching to the right audience
ConditionBrand New, Used โ€“ Like New, Used โ€“ Good, Used โ€“ Fair, Refurbished, or All
RegionWorldwide or one of the major B2B regions (US, China, Japan, South Korea, Germany, UK, France, Italy, India)
DurationHow long the deal stays live โ€” 24 hours, 3 days, 1 week, or 30 days
Target audienceThe categories/brands this specific deal targets, picked from your saved Target Businesses
PrivacyPublic (default) or added to a Private List

Once published, every deal is automatically reviewed (more on that below) and goes live in the matching feeds.

How to post a deal

  1. Tap the + button (visible on every screen).
  2. Choose Deal.
  3. Pick Want to Sell or Want to Buy.
  4. Fill in title and description. Be specific โ€” a vague title is the single biggest reason a deal gets few replies. Two helpers sit in the description editor: Paste drops your clipboard text straight in, and AI Rewrite restructures and tightens what you wrote (it doesn't invent facts).
  5. Pick categories, subcategories, brands โ€” or pick one of your saved Target Businesses so the right buyers/sellers see it.
  6. Set condition (only relevant for Want-to-Sell physical goods).
  7. Set region.
  8. Set duration.
  9. Optionally turn on Boost (paid in tokens โ€” see below).
  10. Tap Post.

Posting a deal is free in normal mode. You only spend tokens if you turn on Boost, or if you're reposting an expired deal. Every new account also starts with 99 tokens as a starter balance.

After tapping Post, the deal goes through automatic review โ€” usually instant, occasionally a few seconds. If it passes, it appears in the feeds. If something looks off (missing details, prohibited content, suspected duplicate), the deal is rejected with a reason and you can edit and resubmit.

How to write a deal that gets replies

The 5-second rule

Buyers spend ~5 seconds deciding whether to tap your deal in the feed. Your title is doing 80% of that work. Make it count.

The platform can show your deal to thousands of businesses, but only a strong deal converts views into messages. The pattern that works:

  • Title: model name + quantity + condition + region. Example: "500ร— iPhone 15 Pro 256GB ยท Brand New ยท UAE in stock". Bad title: "iPhones for sale".
  • Description: bullet points with model, quantity, condition, target price (or "best offer"), location of stock, payment terms, and your preferred contact method. Pictures aren't part of a deal (those go on a Showcase) โ€” clarity in the description carries the deal.
  • Categories and brands: be precise. Picking five irrelevant brands hurts you more than picking one accurate brand.
  • Region: pick the region your stock is actually in. Picking Planet Earth gets you noise from everywhere; picking the right region gets you serious buyers near your stock.

Browsing the Deals feed

The Deals tab is the home feed. At the top you'll see two switches:

  • WTS / WTB โ€” toggle between Want-to-Sell and Want-to-Buy deals.
  • All / Following / Region โ€” filter by everyone, only people you follow, or only deals in a specific region.

You can also:

  • Search โ€” open the search bar to find deals by keyword, brand, or category.
  • Filter โ€” open the filter menu to pick categories, subcategories, brands, region, or condition.
  • Sort โ€” newest first by default.

Why the feed is personalized to you

Your profile setup โ€” categories, subcategories, brands โ€” controls what 12sell prioritizes for you. A laptop wholesaler sees laptop deals at the top; a phone retailer sees phone deals. The deals from people you follow and the deals in your selected region get an extra boost too.

The more accurate your target categories and brands are, the better the feed gets. Refine them anytime from your profile.

Acting on a deal

When you tap a deal in the feed, you see the full description. From there you can:

  • Message the poster โ€” opens a chat in Messaging.
  • Like โ€” saves the deal to your liked items and signals interest (it also helps the algorithm learn what you care about).
  • Share โ€” share the deal via link to anyone, anywhere.
  • Not interested โ€” if a deal isn't relevant, tap Not interested (the โ‹ฏ menu) and the platform hides it and shows you fewer like it. See Hide & Block.
  • Report โ€” for content that breaks the rules (see below).

Posters who are verified (see Verification) show a green badge next to their business title โ€” many users prioritize verified counterparts for serious transactions.

Boost: pay tokens to get more eyes

Boost pins your deal to the top of matching feeds for a chosen window โ€” 1 day, 3 days, 1 week, or 1 month. Pricing starts at 15 tokens/day with discounts on longer windows (1 month is 338 tokens, 25% off). You can boost at the moment of posting or anytime later from the deal's menu.

When the boost ends, the deal stays live (until its overall expiry) but returns to the regular feed position.

For full pricing, when to boost vs not, and patterns that work, see the Boost page.

Lifecycle of a deal

  • Active โ€” visible in the feed, accepting messages.
  • Boosted โ€” pinned to the top of matching feeds.
  • Expired โ€” past its duration; no longer in feeds. You can repost an expired deal in one tap (this re-runs review at the current posting price โ€” posting is free at the moment).
  • Edited โ€” you can edit at any time. If you change details that affect moderation (or the deal had expired), the deal is re-reviewed at the current posting price.
  • Closed โ€” you can close a deal early when you've found the buyer or seller you needed.
  • Removed โ€” if a deal violates the rules (duplicates, prohibited goods, unrelated content), it's removed and you'll see the reason on the deal.

Insights on your deals

From My Deals, each deal shows interaction counts at a glance, and you can open its Insights to see how it's performing โ€” views, likes, and the businesses who liked it or messaged you about it. Use it to spot which titles and regions pull the most interest, then repost or boost the winners.

Private deals

If you don't want a deal to be public, add it to a Private List:

  • Private Lists are subscriber-gated mini-feeds โ€” only approved subscribers see deals you post to them.
  • Use Private Lists for distributors, repeat customers, or insider pricing.
  • You share the list via a link; recipients request to subscribe and you approve.
  • Only verified Company owners can create Private Lists. See Verification.

Following and likes

  • Follow a business to see their deals in your Following filter and get notified when they post new deals.
  • Like a deal to save it and help the platform learn what kind of deals to show you more of.

Reporting and moderation

Every deal is automatically scanned before going live. The system rejects:

  • Duplicate posts of the same item.
  • Items unrelated to your business profile.
  • Prohibited goods.
  • Spam, scams, or content that doesn't describe a real product.

If a deal is rejected, you'll see a clear reason. Edit and resubmit.

You can report any deal that you believe breaks the rules. Reports are reviewed and acted on; repeated violations affect the poster's account standing.

Common questions

How is a Deal different from a Showcase?

A deal is a single transaction post with an expiry date โ€” built to start a conversation now. A showcase is a permanent product gallery with photos that lives on your profile and represents what you offer in general. Use deals for "I have/want this now"; use showcases for "this is my catalog."

How is a Deal different from a Tale?

A tale is a short, time-limited story (24 hours) โ€” for daily moments, not transactions. Deals are the transactional unit; tales are presence and brand.

Why was my deal rejected?

The most common reasons are: title or description is too vague to be a real deal; the post is a duplicate of one already live; the categories don't match the actual content; or the goods aren't allowed on the platform. Read the rejection reason and edit the deal.

How long does it take for my deal to go live?

Almost always immediate. Automatic review takes seconds. Occasionally edge cases get queued for a manual look โ€” usually under an hour.

Can I edit a live deal?

Yes. Open the deal โ†’ menu โ†’ Edit. Some edits trigger a fresh review. If your deal had already expired, editing it acts like a repost and uses tokens.

When am I charged tokens?

Posting a normal deal is free. The only thing that reliably costs tokens is Boost. Reposting an expired deal and re-moderated edits are charged at the current posting price, which is free right now โ€” so in practice they don't cost tokens today. Whatever the price, it's always shown before you confirm.

How do buyers contact me?

When someone is interested in your deal, they tap Message and a private chat opens in Messaging. You'll get a push notification. Reply quickly โ€” fast replies dramatically increase the chance of closing.

What happens to my deal at expiry?

It disappears from feeds but stays in My Deals. One-tap repost to bring it back live (re-runs review at the current posting price โ€” free right now).
