Verification

Get a verified badge on 12sell — what it costs, what documents are required, and what changes once your business is verified.

The badge that wins more deals

3,000 tokens. One year. Roughly 30%+ more reply rate. The math has worked out for every serious trader on the platform.

See the verification path

Verification turns your account into a verified business on 12sell. Verified accounts display a badge next to their business title across Deals, Showcases, Tales, Messaging, and search. Other businesses see the badge before they decide whether to message you, share pricing, or close.

If you do real B2B trade on 12sell, getting verified is one of the highest-ROI things you can do.

What you get when you're verified

BenefitWhat it means
Verified badgeA visible mark next to your business name on every deal, showcase, tale, message, and profile view
Higher trust at a glanceBuyers and sellers prefer to engage with verified counterparts for serious transactions
Better visibilityVerified accounts get priority in feeds and search rankings
Access to Company featuresVerification automatically creates your verified Company profile. You can invite team members, who all inherit the verified badge through the Company
Access to Private ListsOnly verified Company owners can create Private Lists for distributors and repeat customers
Clear company profileA standardized company info card (logo, country, employee count, online presence) is shown publicly

The badge stays on your account for one year from the day you're approved.

What it costs

Verification costs 3,000 tokens. The same Business Pack of tokens ($99.99) covers exactly the verification fee — many users buy that pack specifically to verify.

The fee is one-time per year. Renewal is also 3,000 tokens.

If you don't have enough tokens, you'll see a clear "you need X more tokens" message. Top up via the Wallet and try again.

Don't start the wizard until you have these ready

The #1 reason applications get abandoned is people start the wizard, hit Step 5, and realize they don't have a clean scan of their trade license. Gather everything below first; the wizard takes 3 minutes when you do.

What you'll need before you start

Have these ready — you'll be asked for them inside the wizard:

  • Trade license or business registration document (PDF or image).
  • Owner ID card (PDF or image — passport, national ID, or driver's license of the account owner).
  • Company logo (a clear square logo image works best).
  • Company info: legal company name, country of registration, location, landline (optional), number of employees, your role inside the company (Owner, Director, Manager, etc.).
  • Online presence: at least one of website, Instagram URL, or LinkedIn URL — the more you can provide, the smoother the review.
  • Business description: a few sentences on what your company does, who you sell to, and what makes you credible.
  • Categories, subcategories, and brands your company actually trades in.

The verification wizard

The wizard has five steps. You can save progress and come back, but you can't submit until everything's filled.

Step 1 — Company Info

  • Company legal name.
  • Country of registration.
  • Location (city / address as you'd like it shown).
  • Landline (optional).
  • Number of employees.
  • Your role inside the company (e.g. Owner, Director, Manager).

Step 2 — About & Online Presence

  • Business description (what you do, who you serve).
  • Website URL.
  • Instagram URL.
  • LinkedIn URL.

You must provide at least one of website, Instagram, or LinkedIn. More links shorten review time.

Upload your company logo. A clean square logo on a plain background looks best. Avoid screenshots, watermarks, or photos of products — this is your brand mark.

Step 4 — Categories

Pick the categories, then subcategories, then brands your company trades in. This is similar to Profile Setup but applied to your verified company profile. Be precise — verified companies are expected to actually trade in what they list.

Step 5 — Documents

Upload:

  • Trade license or business registration certificate.
  • Owner ID card — government-issued ID of the account owner.

Both are stored securely and used only for verification review.

When you've filled in every step, tap Submit. The 3,000 tokens are deducted and your application moves to Pending.

Statuses

StatusWhat it means
UnverifiedThe default for every new account. Apply anytime
PendingApplication submitted, awaiting review. The badge isn't visible yet
VerifiedApproved. Badge appears everywhere your account is shown. Valid for 1 year
RejectedApplication was rejected (with a reason). Tokens are refunded only in rare cases — typical rejection is for incomplete or inaccurate documents and the user resubmits
ExpiredOne year has passed since approval. The badge is removed until you renew

You can see your current status anytime under Verification in your settings.

Renewal (Extend)

Verification expires 1 year after approval. The Verification page shows your expiry date once you're verified. To extend:

  1. Open the Verification page.
  2. Tap Extend 1 Year — 3,000 tokens.
  3. Confirm.

That's it — no documents needed for renewal as long as your existing record is valid. The badge stays on without interruption.

If your verification has already expired, you go through the wizard again like a new application.

Review timeline

Most applications are reviewed in 24 hours. Cleaner submissions go faster:

  • Speed wins: clear scans of documents, a working website, a real LinkedIn page, and a complete About section get through faster.
  • Slow wins: blurry documents, mismatched names between trade license and ID, missing online presence, or inactive social profiles take longer or get rejected.

You'll get a notification (email + push) when the status changes.

Common rejection reasons

If your application is rejected, the message tells you why. The most common reasons:

  • Trade license doesn't match the legal name you entered in Company Info.
  • Owner ID name doesn't match the account holder.
  • Website / social links don't load or have nothing on them.
  • Logo is a screenshot, watermarked, or not actually your brand mark.
  • Documents are blurry or partially cropped.

Fix the issue, gather the right files, and reapply.

Privacy

Documents (trade license, ID) are stored encrypted and used only for verification review. They're never shown publicly on your profile or to other users — only the outcome (verified / not) and your standardized company info card are visible.

For full details, read 12sell's Privacy Policy.

Common questions

Do I have to verify to use 12sell?

No. Verification is optional. Many users start unverified and verify later once they've seen the platform deliver value.

How much faster do verified accounts close deals?

Anecdotally, a lot. Verified accounts attract more messages on the same deals and get through more quickly to negotiation. The badge is the cheapest visual upgrade your profile can have.

Can a freelancer or sole trader verify?

Yes — as long as you have a registered business and ID. Sole proprietorships and small businesses are common verified profiles on 12sell.

What if I move my business to a new entity?

Submit a fresh application under the new entity's documents. The old verification expires according to its original timeline.

What happens to my deals/showcases when verification expires?

Nothing — the content stays live. Only the badge is removed until you renew. Renewing is one tap and 3,000 tokens.

Can I see other users' documents?

No. Documents are private. Only verification status and the standardized company info card are public.

Is my verification valid across web, iOS, and Android?

Yes. The badge appears on your profile across every platform — same account, same status.

What if I run out of tokens halfway through filling the form?

You can save progress and submit later when you've topped up. Tokens are only deducted on submit, not when you start.
