Sign Up

You sign up for 12sell with your phone number. The flow is the same on web, iOS and Android: enter your phone, verify it with a one-time code, pick a business title, then add your email and password. After that you set up your profile preferences and land on the Deals feed.

A 12sell account works across web (web.12sell.app), iOS, and Android — sign up on any platform and sign in on the others with the same credentials.

Before you start

You need:

• An active phone number that can receive WhatsApp messages or SMS.
• An email address you check regularly (used to sign back in later).
• Optional: a referral code from another 12sell user — applying it at sign up gives both of you a token bonus.

The four sign-up steps

Step 1 — Phone number

12sell auto-detects your country from your IP address and pre-selects the matching country code. You can change it from the dropdown — every country is supported, with search by name or code.

Type your phone number (without the country code). Phone numbers must be between 4 and 15 digits. If the number is already used by another 12sell account, you'll see "This mobile number is already registered" and you should sign in instead.

Step 2 — Verify your phone

12sell sends a 6-digit verification code to your phone. By default the code is sent over WhatsApp because it's faster and more reliable internationally. If WhatsApp delivery fails, 12sell offers SMS as a fallback.

• Enter the 6 digits — verification happens automatically as soon as the last digit is entered.
• If you don't receive the code, tap Resend. There's a short cooldown between resends so the system isn't abused.
• The code is valid for a limited time. If it expires, request a new one.

If you typed the wrong code, you'll see "Invalid verification code. Please try again."

Step 3 — Business info

Pick a Business Title — this is the public name your business will be known by on 12sell. It appears on your profile, on every deal you post, and on every showcase you publish.

Rules:

• Maximum 18 characters.
• Must be unique — if it's taken, you'll see "Business title is already taken."
• Pick something memorable; you can change it later from Settings, but it shapes how buyers and sellers find you.

You also pick an industry at this step (defaults to Electronics). The industry helps 12sell show your business to the right audience.

Step 4 — Create your account

Add the email and password you'll use to sign back in:

• Email must be a valid format and not already registered with 12sell.
• Password must be at least 6 characters.
• Confirm the password by typing it again.

This is also where you can paste a referral code if someone invited you. See the Referrals page for what you both get.

When you tap Create Account, 12sell creates your account, signs you in, and may send a confirmation link to your email if email verification is enabled. Click the link in your email if you receive one.

Sign up with Google or Apple

Instead of typing an email and password, you can sign up with Google or Apple — the buttons sit on the sign-up screen alongside the email/password form.

Two things stay the same no matter which method you choose:

• Phone verification is still required. Every 12sell account is tied to a verified phone number, so even a Google or Apple signup goes through the phone + one-time-code step.
• You still pick a unique Business Title (and can add a referral code) and complete Profile Setup afterward, and you still receive the sign-up token bonus.

The only difference is your login method: Google/Apple users don't set a password at sign up. You can add one later from Settings → Profile Settings → Set Password if you want an email-and-password login as well — otherwise you just tap the same Google or Apple button each time you sign in.

What happens right after sign up

You go straight into the profile setup flow — a short, five-step personalization wizard that asks what you want to buy or sell, your categories of interest, your favorite brands, and your profile photo. This is what makes your Deals feed and Showcase feed personalized for your business.

After you complete profile setup, you land on the Deals feed.

What you can do as a brand-new user

• Browse Deals, Showcases, and Tales on the home tabs.
• Send and receive messages.
• Post your own deals and showcases (this uses tokens — every new account starts with a small bonus balance, and you earn more by inviting others through Referrals).
• View any other user's profile.

To unlock features that require trust — higher visibility, premium feed placement, and a verified badge — complete ID Verification.

Common questions

Can I sign up with email instead of phone? Or with Google / Apple?

You can sign up with email and password, with Google, or with Apple — but phone verification is required in every case, because 12sell is a B2B network where real, verified businesses interact. Your email (or Google/Apple identity) is your day-to-day login; the phone number is your one-time identity proof.

Why does 12sell send the code on WhatsApp first?

WhatsApp delivers internationally, doesn't depend on SMS gateways, and is free for the user. If WhatsApp can't deliver to your number for any reason, you'll get a prompt offering SMS as a fallback.

What if I don't get the code?

Wait for the resend cooldown to end, then tap Resend. Make sure your phone has signal and you're connected to the internet (for WhatsApp). If your country code is wrong, go back one step and fix it. Test with a friend's phone if your number's network is unusually slow.

Can I change my business title later?

Yes — you can change it from your profile, but it must still be unique and stay within the 18-character limit.

Do I need to verify my identity to sign up?

No. You can sign up and start using 12sell immediately. ID Verification is a separate, optional step that adds a verified badge and unlocks higher trust features.

I made an account but the email never arrived

Check your spam folder. If it's still missing, sign in with the password you just chose — many accounts skip email verification entirely. If sign-in fails because email isn't verified, request a new verification email from the sign-in screen.
