Referrals

The Referral program is how 12sell rewards you for bringing other businesses onto the platform. Every successful referral earns tokens for both you and the new user. For most active users, referrals are the cheapest and fastest way to grow their token balance.

How much you earn

So for every business you bring onto 12sell that uses the platform meaningfully, the two of you receive 180 tokens combined. Compared to the token packages, 150 tokens is roughly the same as a 1-week boost on a Deal — earned for free by inviting one business.

Your referral code

Every account has a referral code. The first time you open the Earn Tokens page (or Wallet → Referrals), 12sell generates one for you automatically.

You can:

• Copy your code to share manually.
• Share it with WhatsApp, email, SMS, or any installed share target.
• Customize your code once — pick a memorable string instead of the auto-generated one. You can customize only once, and the chosen code is then permanent.

The customize-once rule prevents abuse and keeps codes stable so the people you've already shared with don't end up with a dead link.

How to invite someone

1. Open Earn Tokens (in your profile / wallet area).
2. Tap Copy to copy your referral code, or Share to send it directly.
3. The recipient signs up at web.12sell.app (or downloads the iOS / Android app) and enters your code on the Sign Up screen — there's a "Referral code" field at the credentials step.
4. They get 30 tokens as soon as their account is created.
5. Once 12sell recognizes them as a genuine, active user — someone who actually signed up and started using the platform, not a throwaway account — they're marked as qualified and you get 150 tokens automatically.

Tracking your referrals

The Earn Tokens page shows:

• Your total invites (all-time).
• The count of qualified referrals (invitees who became active users).
• A list of every invitee — when they joined, their current status, and whether they qualify yet.
• Total tokens earned from referrals.

Statuses you'll see for each invitee:

• Pending — they signed up but haven't become an active user yet.
• Qualified — they're a confirmed active user and you've been credited.

Tips for inviting people who actually use 12sell

A signup that never gets used is no good for anyone — your invitee never becomes active and you never get the 150 tokens. The pattern that works:

• Invite people who already trade in your industry. A laptop reseller bringing in another laptop reseller is a strong fit; an unrelated industry rarely converts.
• Tell them what to post first. Pre-suggest a Deal or Showcase they can list right away. Active first day = much higher chance of qualifying.
• Walk them through Profile Setup. Skipping setup is the single biggest reason new users churn before they ever become active.
• Connect with them in Messaging the day they sign up. Getting them active early makes the platform feel populated and helps them qualify faster.
• Pick people who'd benefit from the network. People who sense the value become active quickly; people invited just for the bonus often don't.

Rules

• Self-referrals don't count. The system blocks them automatically.
• The new user must be a brand new account — referral codes can only be applied at signup, not retroactively.
• The referred user must become a genuine, active user for the referrer's bonus to release — a signup that never actually uses 12sell won't qualify.
• Referral tokens are credited automatically — no claim or approval is needed.
• Abuse (fake accounts, throwaway numbers) results in revoked credits and possible account suspension.

Referral tokens vs purchased tokens

Tokens earned from referrals are identical to tokens you buy. They show up in the same balance, they spend on the same things, and they don't expire. There's no separate "bonus tokens" pool — earned tokens are just tokens.

Common questions

Can I customize my referral code?

Yes — once. After you customize, the new code is permanent. Pick something tied to your business so it's easy for invitees to remember.

How long does it take to earn the 150-token bonus?

It depends on how active your invitee is. Some users become active within a day; some take a week or two. Pending invites stay pending — there's no time limit.

What makes an invitee "qualify"?

They need to actually use 12sell as a real business — sign up, set up their profile, and start trading. 12sell automatically recognizes genuine, active users; accounts that sign up and then go dormant don't qualify. We don't publish the exact criteria, which keeps the program fair and hard to game.

Can I invite the same person twice?

No. Each phone number / account is unique on 12sell, so each person can only sign up once and only one referral code applies to that signup.

Can I share my code on social media?

Yes. Use the Share button in the Earn Tokens page or copy the code and paste it into a post, story, or DM. Public sharing is allowed and encouraged — but only invitees who actually become active will trigger your bonus.

What if I forget to enter the referral code at signup?

Referral codes can only be applied at the moment of Sign Up. If the new user finishes signup without entering the code, the bonus can't be applied retroactively. Always remind invitees to enter the code on the credentials step.

Will my balance update in real time?

Yes. As soon as the system marks an invitee as qualified, your balance increases and a corresponding entry appears in your transaction history (see Tokens).

Do referral tokens expire?

No. Like all tokens, referral-earned tokens stay on your account indefinitely.
